The project
Who we are
doctordelapaz.org is a personal initiative of Xavier Catalán, author of the project, the texts and the design of this site. It springs from the wish to document the life and works of St Vincent Ferrer with rigour and to make known the cause for his declaration as a Doctor of the Church.
It is not an official body of the Holy See and does not speak on behalf of any institution. It seeks to be a meeting point, open to working with all who already labour for the cause.
Xavier Catalán was born in Valencia and from early childhood has been closely involved with everything concerning St Vincent Ferrer. He has been a xiquet de miracle (child performer) at the Altar of Russafa and artistic director. He has written twelve miracles — traditional Valencian miracle plays — about St Vincent Ferrer for the stage.
He is a Cavaller Jurat de Sant Vicent Ferrer and for four years held the office of Lloctinent General of the M.H.M.V.I.L. Capítol de Sant Vicent Ferrer. Two years ago he was honoured with the «Bona Gent» Prize by the Junta Central Vicentina. He has published articles and essays on the figure of St Vincent Ferrer.
